Version 1.0 · 25 July 2026
This notice is about this website, eventride.uk, and nothing else. If you are a wedding guest using the EventRide platform, a separate and much fuller notice covers your information there, and it is shown to you inside the product.
Tom Abbotts, trading as EventRide, is the data controller for this website. EventRide is not yet a registered company. You can reach me at privacy@eventride.uk, and I will give you a postal address on request.
There is no sign-up form, no newsletter, no contact form and no account. Nothing on this site asks you for your details, and nothing here is tracked.
Server records. This site is hosted by Vercel, and like any web host their servers record technical information when a page is served, including the IP address the request came from. This is ordinary infrastructure logging, kept briefly and used to serve the site and keep it secure. Legal ground: legitimate interests in running a working, secure website.
Typefaces. The two typefaces used here are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser fetches them from Google and Google receives the IP address making the request. This is common across the web, but it is a transfer to a third party, so it belongs in a notice rather than left unsaid. Legal ground: legitimate interests in presenting the site as designed. I intend to serve the typefaces from this site instead, which will remove the transfer.
Vercel and Google are United States companies. Where technical information about your visit is processed outside the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law: the UK's data bridge for certified US organisations, or the Information Commissioner's international data transfer agreement or addendum.
The addresses on this site are ordinary email addresses. If you write to me, I hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to have the conversation and to keep a sensible record of it, and no longer. I will not add you to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list. Legal ground: legitimate interests in replying to someone who has chosen to get in touch.
You can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to my use of it, or ask me to restrict it. Write to privacy@eventride.uk and I will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I would rather you gave me the chance to put it right first, but it is your right either way.
Any changes appear here, with the version and date above updated.
